Hellooooo folks! It's been a little while since I did this, forgive me. I was sick and then when I stopped being sick, school decided it was tired of me kicking its ass so it opened up a can of whoop ass on me. That's still happening but I figure one way or another, the semester is over after this week sooo, three tears in a bucket. In the midst of all of that craziness though, I have had the most amazing week and weekend. And since I love you guys so very much, I'll share part of it with you. But first, I think a definition is in order. So this weekend, I went to this really awesome event called Salon Talk with Shandrea Lewdram. It was hosted by Andrea Lewis and Shannon Boodram of Those Girls Are Wild at [Salon] 718 in Brooklyn and it was pretty freaking amazing. It was a room full of wild girls and there was speed networking and hair talk and life talk and dreams and goals talk and grub provided by Cake N Wings and a hilarious group skit and gift bags from Mixed Chicks that included this great wooden hairbrush, amongst other things... ...and fun in abundance. It's funny because I've been following them on YouTube and Tumblr and the general interwebs for a while and I never imagined that meeting them would be what it was. They're the sweetest most humble and down to earth people and they're pretty damn fly. It was cool hanging out with them and also meeting other awesome, like-minded ladies who are about something. So, being the journalist that I am, of course I'm gonna chat with them and tell the story of how these wild girls came to be. So stay tuned for that. I feel I maybe just wild enough to make it happen. But I digress. It was a really great night.
Wild Girls UNITE!
The rest of my weekend was pretty mellow after that. Conference wide women's day at church (so appropriate) and Sunday brunch with a fellow wild girl at Matilda. My weekend was a celebration of amazing women. And also, awesome.
