Hey hey. I'm Sasha.
Digital storyteller,
Photographic narrator,
Hogwarts alum.
In real life, I write things. I speak fluent sarcasm. I'm unintentionally funny. My favorite thing is food. Guac is life. I'm a fountain of the most random information. I'm pretty, only because it's weird to call oneself beautiful. I'm weird in all the good ways. I live in the greatest city on Earth. I was Sasha before Beyonce was schizophrenic.
My life is stranger than fiction. But please, don't take my word for it.
My pen is mightier than my sword.

Truth is, I'm not innocent. I'm just an abstinent fireplace that doesn't wanna feel the fire kindled between her legs anymore so don't mind the ashes. They're just evidence of how brightly I can glow and I wanna glow hard like one dim star on an otherwise starless night that shines just to prove its fidelity.

  #birthdaythings
Friday, June 13, 2014 || 3:09 PM
As you've probably guessed from the title, I'm finally blogging my birthday shenanigans (and a few extras). Even though tomorrow will make it exactly a month since my birthday, I've come to accept the fact that for some reason, I can never seem to blog birthday things in a timely manner. Probably because I'm too busy doing birthday things to sit down and write about them. So this is me, a month later, sitting down and writing about them.
I am 26 years old. They say a woman should never tell her age but 1) I don't even look close to my age and 2) my mom always says you're as young as you feel. So that makes me a 26 year old who looks 19, living in the body of an 80 year old woman. Guys, I'm tired. *sigh*
Anywhoo, birthday things. On the morning of my birthday, as has been my custom for the last 3 years or so, I went to Williamsburg for my annual birthday taco. I could just taste the eggs and tomatoes and cilantro and all the flavory goodness that sinks to the bottom, right before the taco breaks. But alas, I walked into Whirlybird and found Van Leeuwen's summer pop up shop instead.

Whirlybird has officially closed up shop which was pretty damn devastating for me to find out. But the ice cream was really good so it wasn't a total loss. In even more sad news, Suckers the Sweet Cellar also appears to have closed its doors for good. My Williamsburg is not what it used to be at all. Luckily, I found some pretty freaking awesome spots to soften the blow of losing two of my faves. But I'm getting ahead of myself. So Andy and I ate ice cream and walked around for a bit and then I went back home because Andy had other "obligations" he needed to attend to.

So I spent the rest of my day relaxing and then that evening, Anderson and Emma took me to Hill Country BBQ Market which was a new experience for me but the food was so dope and the service was awesome. They even had a live band and karaoke but I wasn't feeling too brave.

My first brisket sandwich was EVERYTHING.

The Saturday night after that, I had a nice, low key dinner with a few close friends at Fushimi, this awesome sushi/Japanese tapas style place I recently discovered in Williamsburg. The food was good, the drinks were great and the staff was very accommodating.

All in all, I'd say it was a top night and my friends are awesome for making it so memorable.
Two days later, I was on a bus to Maryland for Shayna's (my little cuz) graduation. I can't even wrap my mind around that so I won't try.

And since I've returned, I've just been derping around town, getting into all kinds of random shenanigans, the most recent of which, you can see here. So there you have it, my random birthday shenanigans. I know it's been a long time, I'm sorry this was so late. But I have all manner of awesome things planned this summer, plenty of things for me to not blog about. #silverlining

In the meantime, feel free to pop on over to my YouTube channel to see what I've been up to. You guys are the greatest for putting up with me for so long. You're all champs! With the exception of the Miami Heat because good Lord, they've been having an awful week. But that's neither here nor there. Happy almost Summer!
