Where to begin on things that are "complicated"? I have so many thoughts and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how to get them out or exactly where I'm going with this so just bear with me for now. In my experience, there are two different types of "complicated". The first is when something is genuinely complicated and for the people who are going through genuinely complicated things, I feel for you. I hate when things are complicated because I feel so confused and lost and I just keep wishing for a way out of the situation and the way out never seems to come. I really feel your pain and if you're in one of these dreadful situations, the most I can tell you is to get on your knees and start praying because that's the only way you'll find your way out of your hellish situation. However, there's another kind of complicated, and it's the kind that's not complicated at all. For instance, there are people who are so happy and carefree that they need to invent complications in their lives just to shake things up a bit. Some people genuinely like that drama in their lives. I'm not a fan of that or any kind of drama so I avoid "complicated" at all costs. Don't say "it's complicated". Tell it like it is. You might come to find it's simpler than you thought. I'll give you a perfect example. There was this guy I liked and he liked me. We were both single at the time but we weren't together because he wasn't ready to be in a relationship (and I had to hand it to him for his honesty, it was very refreshing). But when I tried to explain why we weren't together without telling people EVERYTHING, all they could say was "hmph…sounds pretty complicated to me" when in reality, it seemed pretty damn simple. I don't like complicated. I'm not a fan of complicated so I don't go looking for complicated. And I feel like if you go looking for complicated, you shouldn't complain when you REALLY get complicated. So if you don't really want complicated, keep yuh backside quiet!
