Hey hey. I'm Sasha.
Digital storyteller,
Photographic narrator,
Hogwarts alum.
In real life, I write things. I speak fluent sarcasm. I'm unintentionally funny. My favorite thing is food. Guac is life. I'm a fountain of the most random information. I'm pretty, only because it's weird to call oneself beautiful. I'm weird in all the good ways. I live in the greatest city on Earth. I was Sasha before Beyonce was schizophrenic.
My life is stranger than fiction. But please, don't take my word for it.
My pen is mightier than my sword.

Truth is, I'm not innocent. I'm just an abstinent fireplace that doesn't wanna feel the fire kindled between her legs anymore so don't mind the ashes. They're just evidence of how brightly I can glow and I wanna glow hard like one dim star on an otherwise starless night that shines just to prove its fidelity.

  DIY spiked cutoffs
Sunday, August 18, 2013 || 1:37 PM
During my vacation, the technology gods did not smile down on me. We were supposed to get our wifi hooked up my first week there but it never happened. So I didn't have wifi for the entire three weeks, which suited me just fine. But that means that whatever downtime I did have, I used to work on my DIY projects. So in addition to acid wash shorts, this also happened:

High Waisted Spiked Shorts

What you'll need:

high waisted jeans
scissors
sharp edged tweezer -or- knitting needle
screw-on spikes

First, cut the jeans to your preferred length. This was yet another pair of jeans that had ripped in the inner thigh so I just cut them right where they ripped which, conveniently enough, was the perfect length for me.

Next, use your tweezer or knitting needle to make a small hole in the denim. Try to move the threads of denim aside instead of ripping right through them so that the holes don't get bigger with each wash.

Insert the screw back of the spike into the hole you made from the inside of the jeans...

And screw on the top of the spike. Place as many as you want on the shorts. When I was finished, mine looked like this:

I used 10mm silver cone spikes that I got from this cool little Etsy shop (big surprise). They have so many other shapes, sizes and colors though and they were really great. Also, there are dozens of other Etsy shops that sell spikes and studs and all that good stuff.
This was a relatively easy project and when I was done, I had another cute pair of shorts to wear on vacation. Let me know what you guys think, if you liked it or if you tried it and if you have some cool DIY ideas of your own, feel free to share. I'm always down to try my hand at something new. Hope you guys enjoyed.
